Burnout
Burnout goes much deeper than being exhausted. Things you once managed may suddenly feel impossible. Your tolerance for noise, demands, social interaction, decision-making, or unexpected changes may shrink. You might withdraw, struggle to initiate basic tasks, feel emotionally numb or unusually reactive, or find that rest doesn’t seem to restore you the way it once did. Sometimes burnout develops after years of productivity without adequate recovery. Sometimes it follows caregiving, chronic stress, workplace demands, trauma, masking, or continually functioning beyond your actual capacity.
Therapy can’t make an unsustainable life sustainable simply by teaching you to tolerate more. Instead, we can look at what has been draining you, what your mind and body may be communicating, where expectations can change, and what genuine recovery might require. The goal isn’t necessarily getting you back to producing at your previous pace. We’ll work to create a life that no longer requires you to repeatedly abandon your own limits.
